Fall 2011 Trends: Southwest Chic

It began with ikat, grew into "tribal" and now has taken a turn towards "Southwest."

I am going to call it Southwest Chic.  Think chunky knits with geometric shapes, a palette of teals and corals and accessories with fringe.  My favorite pieces are the jewels that include bright stones and a hint of rhinestones.

Not sure where to start with this trend?  I suggest a scarf or piece of jewelry.  If you are more daring, the Asos dress below is perfection.

The best part of Southwest Chic?  It is easy to incorporate into your existing wardrobe.  Most pieces work well with a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and boots.  However, like all trends, try to stick to one statement piece; anything more is too much.
